A little walk down memory lane today.

In 2008 I entered a national dress contest on Kaboodle & hosted by Marie Claire Magazine.  The prize was a trip to NYC & $1,000 shopping mula.  I put my dress on & had my son my picture.  He was 9 then & he is the same child who takes my photos today.

Out of 948 entries, I made the semifinal list.  I was really surprised, to say the least!  People were making remarks about how old I was compared to the other girls so I really didn’t think I had a chance.  But, I won!  It was crazy.  I was living in the sticks with dial-up internet so when the page finally loaded & I saw my picture I was seriously amazed.  And happy!

NYC was fun & kind of sensory overloading.  It was a great experience.

My camera was horrible back then so the pictures are not great.

I decided on a pair of D&G heels (which I wore yesterday on the blog).  It was the most money I have ever spent on anything & really hard to do.  But, I’m glad I did.

My biggest regret is not taking my son as my guest.  I really should have.  Someday I will though, I promise
